So you are in your basement and you see something with lots of legs jumping around....EEK!!! What is that thing? It just jumped at me!

That's a camel cricket my friend, and yes, it jumped at you. Jumping is how they defend themselves when they feel threatened, it's trying to scare you away (and it's probably working!). But no worries, they won't bite, they can't bite. Camel crickets don't have fangs, or the ability to bite. But they can chew! And they will eat just about anything, even each other.
